Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse: An Introspective Look at the Inseparable Link Between Critical Infrastructure and Operational Resilience.

This session examines the continuity and operational resilience impacts for government and the private sector following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland in 2024. The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge caused direct and cascading impacts on multi-modal transportation arteries, degraded the regional supply chain, and caused significant economic impacts. This event forced both government entities and private sector businesses to implement continuity and operational resilience plans as well as review their planning assumptions in their operational resilience models and plans.

Speaker: Ken Maloney, Director, Business Resilience, Marriott International
